The Mathematical Oncology Laboratory (MOLAB) is a multidisciplinary research group that develops mathematical studies on problems related to cancer, to provide new perspectives and understanding of these oncological diseases. The objective is to capture and implement the fundamental aspects of cancer, in mathematical models and in silico platforms, feeding them with patient data, to simulate their behaviour in a realistic and minimally invasive way, which can act as clinically compatible “avatars”, opening a virtual window to improve the diagnosis of cancer, anticipating its evolution, and the design and optimisation of therapeutic strategies (doses, combinations and spacing) that minimise the development of resistance and maximise the effectiveness of treatments in terms of patient survival and toxicity.
